For their third season in a row, Style Fashion Week LA will dominate for six days while revealing collections from sought-after designers from around the world. The week kicked off on Sunday night with a VIP opening reception at a private estate in Bel Air. The reception benefitted Hollywood Arts, a non-profit organization that supports underprivileged youth through arts-based learning.

The evening featured a host of amenities, which included a Gibson-sponsored live musical performance by Tim Blane, a high jewelry showcase by jeweler Martin Katz, a Louis XIII cognac tasting, handcrafted artisan chocolates by Knipschildt, a chocolate fountain by Brunch Butler and delicious cuisine prepared by French Master Chef Philippe Forcioli of Orient Express.

In addition, the Getty publication “Herb Ritts: L.A. Style” displayed original artwork by Herb Ritts, an L.A.-based photographer who earned an international reputation for his images of celebrities and fashion models. The exhibit will be on display at the Getty Museum beginning April 3rd.

Among those in attendance at the event were actresses Brooke Lewis, Leslie Berkman and Emily Callaway, producer Tammy McCann with Chelsea Handler, fashion blogger Cassandra Morris, and Getty Museum representatives Melissa Crowley and Desiree Zenowich.

The festivities held much anticipation for the collections that will be showcased throughout the week. Style Fashion Week LA veteran, Stop Staring!, will debut their Fall 2012 Collection inspired by The Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, known in Spanish as the “Epoca de Oro.” Later in the evening, Ina Soltani will show her glamorous collection filled with mystique, as she promotes and revives the craftsmanship in fashion.

The designers will once again be sending models down the runway at the breathtaking Vibiana cathedral at 214 S. Main Street in downtown Los Angeles. Continue to follow Neon Tommy as we take a step inside of the venue and bring you closer to the fashion world!
