LA Style Fashion Week opened last night with a great turn out as two collections were revealed: the Stop Staring! fall 2012 collection and Ina Soltani's glamorous collection. The models strutted on the catwalk wearing bold colors and jaw dropping dresses.
Stop Staring!'s founder and designer, Alicia Estrada, continually describes her collections as a vintage-inspired, but modern femme fatale look, with a focus on a bombshell silhouette from the 1940s and 1950s. Her fall collection was inspired by the "Epoca de Oro," or The Golden Age of Mexican Cinema. What really embodied the meaning of the phrase was the dress showcased at the end: a floor-length sequined gold gown. Estrada could not have ended her show any better than with the reveal of that last showstopper.
Next up was Ina Soltani's collection filled with bold colors, clean lines and sultry designs. The look maintained throughout the show was an edgy feminine, and Soltani mixed leather, silk and chiffon to achieve it. Her glamorous collection held up to its expectation, as the last floor-length gown was a stunning design of white feathers and black ruffles.
Tonight will feature designers TBD and XCVI. Look forward to the layers and bundles to be presented as XCVI takes the audience into an etheral escape into a Nordic forest, and continue to follow LA Style Fashion Week with Neon Tommy!
