Rhode Islanders claim him as one of their own, and he’s made a name for himself at the Jersey Shore. Now, he’s doing it big in the city of sin. That’s right everyone, Pauly D is heading to Vegas!

In this week’s premiere of the new MTV series “Pauly D Project,” Pauly D introduced his loyal crew members and auditioned for a new gig that could change his entire career.

At the start of the show, the crew left Providence, Rhode Island to audition for the residency DJ position at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.

Although his father had recently suffered a stroke, Pauly D decided to take the opportunity to further his DJ career. At least it’s better than wasting time getting drunk at the shore, right?

The boys were instantly welcomed with stretch limousines, fancy suites, a personal pool and a visit from none other than Jason “JRoC” Craig, the man who made it all happen.

“You have one shot,” he said. Talk about easing those nerves, JRoC.

But, in the city of sin, there’s no time for stomach butterflies and knotted nerves.

As soon as Pauly D began to express uneasiness, his crew almost instantaneously cured his momentary meltdown with some liquid magic and fist-pumping fun. Yeaaahh buddy!

Their first night in Vegas was spent at—you guessed it—the infamous nightclubs on the Strip, and what’s a night without some sweet lovin’ afterwards?

After a night of crazy partying and a late night swim with hot chicks and a plus-sized surprise guest, the boys got down to work.

At the beginning of his set, Pauly D encountered problems with the sound system as half of the speakers in the club went out unexpectedly.

But with his crew on hand to fix things when they went wrong, Pauly D overcame the technical issues and killed it at the Palms nightclub during his audition.

Six months of waiting were met with a phone call that sealed the deal. It was almost as if the gods had called and answered his prayers.

“Pack your bags. They want you to be the new resident DJ at the Palms!”

A man true to his roots, Pauly D decided to celebrate his going-away at Providence’s famous nightclub, Ultra.

“I’ll never forget where I came from. Wish me luck, Providence. I’m going to Vegas!” he exclaimed.

This week’s episode ended with a sneak preview of the entire season.

Blooming romance, struggling relationships, fights within the crew and a trip to Puerto Rico are all in store during this season of “Pauly D Project.” Keep watching to see it all!
