The Chanel 2012-2013 Autumn/Winter ready-to-wear collection infused Indian jewels and patterns with hints of western style, whimsical shapes, and perfectly tailored classic suits and jackets.

Designer Karl Lagerfeld had outdone himself with this versatile yet seamlessly put-together collection. He payed tribute to the classic Chanel tweed with fitted skirt suits and dresses in shiny rust red, orange and olive green; embossing the timeless pieces with pearl accents and neat boning.

The connecting theme throughout the collection could be seen in the models’ hair and makeup. They donned a punk-bohemian-chic look that consisted of dark cat-eye makeup and unique metal-and-stone hair and jewelry fixtures that delivered a tastefully modern and edgy trend.

Cross body bags with unique straps lineed the outfits with metal and pearl adornments, straying from the classic chain and leather that Chanel is so well-known for. The small, square size of the bags added to their utility, giving the models a more casual appearance.

Lagerfeld’s use of color and materials enhanced the freshness of the line with bright fuchsia tweed, metallic bronze, and silky faded wine hues. He combined effortless draping with fitted metallic leggings and embossed piping; leaving no ensemble without a sophisticated breathtaking surprise.

Overall, the line successfully recalls classic Chanel shapes while introducing never-before seen styles that retain a beautiful and effortless bohemian elegance.
