SLIDESHOW: Scenes From The Nevada Caucuses

Schools across Washoe County opened early Saturday morning to caucusgoers anxious to have their say in the ongoing GOP political fight.

Nevada's second largest county, next to Clark County, promises to be a critical swing county in the crucial swing state when the presidential election comes in November.

More than 875 volunteers helped run the 15 caucus locations in Washoe County, which organized voting among 459 precincts. Results were expected to be announced between 7 and 9 p.m.

Early word from the Nevada caucuses was that Mitt Romney would take a comfortable victory, but Ron Paul's libertarian views struck a chord with many in Washoe County, and second place didn't seem out of reach, according to caucus organizers. Caucus officials anticipated a 17.5 percent voter turnout.

At Galena High School, home of the Grizzlies, classrooms and the gym were packed with county precinct residents.
