Close to 100 people, young and old, came together in Leimert Park Monday evening to remember Whitney Houston.  The pop diva died Saturday at the age of 48.

The memorial was billed as a celebration of her life and the crowd did just that, singing and dancing to some of Houston’s hits such as “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and “I’m Every Woman.”

Los Angeles resident Lonetta James was one of those in attendance. “This is a celebration for Whitney in our community among us.  She brought a lot of love into my life through her voice and music,” James said.
