Safety Gerald Bowman of Pierce Community College in Woodland Hills, Calif. has signed with the USC Trojans, the school announced Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defensive back was regarded as the top junior college prospect in the country, and will bring athleticism and run-stopping ability to Monte Kiffin's defense.

Bowman is rated as a five-star recruit by Scout, and a four-star player by Rivals. He noted for his strong tackling and speed, running as low as a 4.43-second 40-yard dash.

He will have two years of NCAA eligibility to play for the Trojans. He visited USC on Dec. 2 before committing to the school later last month.
