Starting Tuesday, Feb. 28, Segestrom Center for the Arts will be showing TRACES, an exciting and energetic acrobatics show by the Montreal-based troupe 7 Fingers.

The show features a spectacular fusion of artistic acrobatics and swift moves of the circus to create a 90-minute thrilling experience like no other.  Integrating street performance inspirations into the show, TRACES draws upon lively music, creative dance moves, illustration, and even basketball to create a lively and unique performance that is sure to keep audience members captivated throughout the show.

Straight from New York, TRACES is directed and choreographed by Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider.  TRACES performers include Mason Ames, Valérie Benoît-Charbonneau, Matieu Cloutier, Bradley Hnderson, Philippe Normand-Jenny, Xia Zhengqi and Florian Zumkehr.

The group's French name, "Les 7 Doigts de la Main," translates into "the seven fingers of the hand" and is a spin on the French idiom "the five fingers of the hand" (describes tightly united distinct parts moving in coordination towards a common goal). The number seven refers to the seven founding directors of the company: Shana Carroll, Isabelle Chasse, Patrick Léonard, Faon Shane, Gypsy Snider, Sébastien Soldevila and Samuel Tétreault.

TRACES will run from Feb. 28-March 4 at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, CA.  Tickets start at $15 and are available for sale online.  Visit their website for more information.
