There are two reasons why people watch the Oscars: to see who won and to see what they wore when it happened. While the world’s eyes are fastened on Hollywood’s best and worst dressed of the night, we owe it to our fellow reporters that were out on the red carpet giving us the latest updates on who’s wearing what. But in addition to their coverage on one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights, those who are behind the story become the story.

"Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts stood amongst A-listers like Kristen Wiig and Natalie Portman in a sparkling cowl necked gown. The beaded floor-length dress was cinched at the waist, complementing Roberts form perfectly. In a blush/white color, a popular choice amongst the stars Sunday night, Roberts fit perfectly on the red carpet. Simply put, Roberts was the epitome of a classy understated elegance.

Following in the same color footsteps as Roberts is E! News Anchor Giuliana Rancic. Rancic wore an extravagant white gown by Tony Ward Couture. The sweeping gown featured leafy shoulder details that continued down her sides and back. The sweetheart neckline and bejeweled bodice was a gorgeous ensemble on Rancic, but it was a little over the top. Rancic’s attending the Oscar’s as a reporter, not as a bride. However, there is no doubt that Rancic looked stunning on the red carpet.

Fashion journalist Louise Roe, who joined Roberts on the red carpet, wore a Black Halo Style gown on the big night. The blush colored dress was not quite Roe’s best fashion choice. The deep-V blazer-like top looked bland and too conservative. The waist was cinched with a belt that featured a knot-like design that separated a boring top and gorgeous bottom. The structured tiers on the bottom half of her dress were layered elegantly and the fit was perfect on Roe. It almost looks like so much time was spent on the bottom that there wasn’t enough time to finish the top.

E! Personality Kelly Osbourne was probably one of the night’s happiest surprises. Osbourne looked breathtaking in a black hip-hugging gown. The otherwise understated dress had flutter sleeves adorned with sequins that continued around the bust and down to her hips. Sheer cutouts around her collar bone gave the dress an edgier vibe, not unexpected of Osbourne. Not only did Osbourne’s newly toned body look great, she chose a gorgeous dress that fit her well.
