A tense brunch brings up some white lies in the family: a fake hole in one by Jay in Mitchell’s childhood and a stolen Tupperware. But Lily keeps the mood light by imitating everyone, which the adults think is adorable. Manny and Luke, on the other hand, are jealous of Lily’s place as the cute young kid in the family, and are nostalgic for their days as attention-getting youngsters.

The newfound friendship between Manny and Luke and their desire to bring Lily down inspires them to devise a complex trap for her, however it snares Cam instead and breaks Lily’s doll.

Phil offers to go get the doll fixed, which apparently has medical insurance, a concept that disgusts Gloria. “You know what a doll is in my village? An apple on a fork.”

On the way to the mall Phil referees a fight with the girls, and a simple misunderstanding leads to Phil learning that his angelic Haley is no longer a virgin. Scarred, Phil goes into a state of shock for the rest of the day, and keeps making underhand comments, unable to accept the news.

Cam, upset about the Tupperware he swears Claire took and never returned, fakes a back injury from the fall and encourages everyone to go about their day as he rests on the Dunphy couch. When everyone leaves, he ravages the kitchen in search for his lost item. “Revenge is a dish that is best served cold. And even better two days later out of a 24-ounce, microwave-friendly, burp-seal Pak-N-Store.”

Mitchell tries to fix the memory he ruined with his father, but ends up exposing the lie to his golf buddies, who revere him for his legendary hole-in-one. Mitch apologizes because the day feels as though the day was one of the biggest bonding days in his and his father’s relationship. The conversation makes Mitch realize that Jay does value the times they spent together in his childhood, contrary to prior belief.

Gloria, trying to spend time with Claire, follows her to yoga. When Claire fakes a headache, Gloria follows her and reveals her secret stress reliever: going to the shooting range. The two begin to bond as Gloria pokes fun at her poor shooting skills.

This week’s episode could have been called Can Of Worms, because they were opened left and right, exposing secrets of the family that they, and we did not know. However it brought together some of the more distanced characters and made for yet another hilarious episode of one of ABC’s top comedies.
