Thirty-three years ago, the first Food Fare started with a cooking demonstration from none other than the skillful and beloved Julia Child. Today, the event has grown to become the oldest culinary event in Los Angeles.

Food Fare 2012 is hosted by Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, and is to be held Thursday, March 8th. The renowned annual event will allow guests to sample some of the best food and drink LA has to offer.

Restaurants that have participated in the past include Drago Centro, Ammo, Clementine, Angelini Osteria, and Church and State. In addition to restaurants, food trucks such as The Border Grill Truck and The Grilled Cheese Truck have also participated.

This year will be no different, as over 150 restaurants, food trucks, caterers, wineries, florists, and entertainers come together at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium for a cause. Food Fare is the largest fund raising event of the year for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, whose health centers provide care to over 120,000 men, women and teens each year.

Planned Parenthood has named Suzanne Goin, owner of AOC, Lucques and Tavern, 2012 Chef of The Year. “It is truly an honor to be named as Chef of the Year," said Goin. "Planned Parenthood provides an invaluable service to the people of Los Angeles and I am so proud to once again be part of this wonderful event.”

Celebrities have also been known to attend the annual Food Fare. Additionally, there will be limited edition Velvet by Graham and Spencer t-shirts designed exclusively for Planned Parenthood LA for sale at the event.
