Jenny Packham And Debenhams: The Fashion Industry’s Latest Partnership
Luckily for consumers on a budget, news recently broke that Packham is partnering up with the UK department store, Debenhams, to design an affordable capsule line. Shoppers can anticipate a collection complete with ornamented garments in a variety of playfully bright hues at a fraction of the cost. Together, Packham and Debenhams will also launch both a jewelry line with accessories that will no doubt complement the dresses flawlessly, as well as a children’s line for the little ones who love dabbling in haute couture. All three collections will debut in Spring 2012.
Debenhams is no stranger to joint ventures with influential designers; in the past, the department store has collaborated with artists like Preen, Jonathan Saunders, and Matthew Williamson. Unlike with those partnerships, however, Debenhams expects that its partnership with Packham will be long-term. Michael Francis, president of Debenhams, assured WWD that “this [partnership] is a meaningful, multi-year relationship.”
As celebrities like Kate Middleton continually demonstrate on carpet and off, a woman can never have too many Jenny Packham designs. Thus, here’s to hoping that Francis’s statement holds true.
