Houston's body was found at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday and investigations into the R&B singer's death are ongoing, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Grammy Awards executive producer Ken Erhlich told L.A.'s CBS local affiliate that Hudson will be featured in a "musical tribute."

"[Hudson's] a good friend of the Grammys," Ehrlich said. "She's had some very significant appearances on the show. It felt right to ask to her to come and help us honor Whitney, which she will do musically."

Ehrlich confirmed that Chaka Khan will also join in paying tribute to Houston during Sunday's ceremony, according to MTV.com.

"It's too fresh in everyone's memory to do more at this time, but we would be remiss if we didn't recognize Whitney's remarkable contribution to music fans in general, and in particular her close ties with the Grammy telecast and her Grammy wins and nominations over the years," Ehrlich said.

Before receiving word of Houston's death, Hudson attended a pre-Grammy event on Saturday where she discussed the late singer's impact on her career.

Hudson said in a New Zealand Herald article that one of the highlights of her career was being presented with a Grammy for Best R&B Album by Houston back in 2009.

"Who would present me with my first Grammy, Whitney Houston herself -- that almost overshadowed getting the Grammy," Hudson said.

This will mark Hudson's third performance at the Grammys. In 2009, she received a standing ovation for her rendition of "You Pulled Me Through," in one of her first performances after the murder of her mother and brother, according to TV Guide.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards air Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS.
