As the Los Angeles Marathon approaches, there is also another less-known marathon taking place in Downtown in March.

Actually, it’s a Beerathon.

After a successful five years in New York City, the founders of the NYC Beerathon have decided to expand to the west coast to bring us the first-ever LA Beerathon. Like a marathon with 26.2 miles, the participants of the Beerathon will get to try 26 craft beers at 26 bars in Downtown LA.

Although the bars are not yet announced, their website says that the course is designed by a “Certified Beerathon Course Map Veteran.” Each venue will be announced one by one on their Facebook page starting 26 days before the actual event.

In addition to bar-hopping, participants will also get the chance to party with bands and djs, as well as meet some fellow Angelenos. If that’s still not enough, a portion of all proceeds are going to be donated to a charity.

Tickets are $55 each, which means each beer is just a little over $2. Check-in starts at 12:00 pm at the first location, where participants will get their map and VIP badge that will get them into the other 25 bars. The event goes until 1:00 am, so get ready for a day of partying, making new friends, and drinking beers!

Does downing 26 beers seem like a daunting task? Don’t worry, as their website says, “Finishing is not mandatory, participating is.”
