Oscars 2012: The Top 5 Worst Dressed
5. Shailene Woodley
"The Descendants" actress aged herself 15 years in this ivory Valentino Couture gown. Woodley looked matronly in a high neckline and long sleeves. The gown itself was stunning, but inappropriately mature for the 20-year-old actress. The young new star should experiment with color and fresh silhouettes while she still can! 4. Viola Davis
Although Viola Davis’s emerald dress was a stunning color, the dress itself seemed more fitting of a high school prom than the Academy Awards. Davis, nominated for her lead actress role in "The Help," had a little too much going on with her Vera Wang gown. With too much embellishment and too many pleats, the dress looked overworked and distracted from Davis’ regal natural beauty. Photo credit: @Univ_Estilo

3. Melissa McCarthy
Funny girl, Melissa McCarthy made a fashion misstep in an unflattering blush-toned custom Marina Rinaldi dress. With too many pleats, too much fabric and overwhelming sleeves, McCarthy’s dress did her figure no favors. The "Bridesmaids" actress, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, would have been better off in simple dark colored gown with sleek lines to avoid added volume. Photo Credit: @Univ_Estilo |
2. Jennifer Lopez
Sorry J.Lo, the Grammys were a couple weeks ago. Showing way too much skin in Zuhair Murad, Lopez looked inappropriate for the Academy Awards and frankly, a little trashy. Cutouts, plunging back and front, and a body-hugging fit had bodacious Lopez busting out of the dress. Lopez, who presented an award with Cameron Diaz, is known for skin-baring outfits but it would be nice to see a little less of J.Lo for once.

1. Sacha Baron Cohen
He wanted attention, and he got it. Dressed in character for his upcoming movie, "The Dictator," Sacha Baron Cohen caused a scene with his outfit and performance on the red carpet. His comedic antics may be funny on screen, but there is no need for Cohen to be so disruptive at something like the Oscars. We love you Sacha Baron Cohen, and we get it, just save it for the right moment.
