Oscar Fashion Trends: White Everywhere
The night's red carpet featured many actresses in the color white. Here's a look at some of the few most notable dresses that proves neutral colors can be both good and bad.
Shailene Woody, the young star of "The Descendants," wore a white Valentino couture gown. The thick long sleeves and high neck line made the 20-year-old’s choice seem a little too matronly for her age.
As Best Actress nominee for her role in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," Rooney Mara wore a stunning Givenchy gown, also in a shade of white. The low back and neck line complimented her simple hair and make-up choice. "Project Runway’s" Nina Garcia called Mara’s look, “Audrey Hepburn gone punk”.
Octavia Spencer also followed the white color trend. "The Help" star wore a beautifully embellished Tadashi Shoji gown, staying faithful to her designer that has dressed her throughout the awards season.
Finally, Jennifer Lopez’s dazzled the red carpet in her eye-catching sheer gown. The cream dress by Zuhair Murad certainly made a statement with the deep v-neck and silvery accents.
