In the latest in a wave of attacks across Iraq since the U.S. completed its troop withdrawl, a bomb outside a policeman's home exploded early Thursday morning, killing 10 people from two families, according to Iraqi police sources.

Among the victims were two policemen, their wives and six sons and daughters.

The bombing occurred south of Baghdad in Mussayib, a predominantly Shiite city, AFP reported.

Attacks in recent weeks have targeted police and security forces.  Reuters reported that two off-duty policemen were shot and killed in front of their home in southeastern Kirkuk on Wednesday.

From Associated Press:

"In an audio message aired on Wednesday, a spokesman for al-Qaida's Islamic State of Iraq who identified himself as Abu Mohammed al-Adnani said that even as the U.S. troops left Iraq, 'our army still exists and is increasing day after the other.'"
