At the end of last week’s episode, a new secret got thrown into Rosewood’s web of lies as Emily, Aria, and Spencer agreed to meet secretly with Caleb behind Hanna’s back.

This week’s episode of “Pretty Little Liars” opened up with a secret rendezvous between Caleb and the girls – well, except for Hanna. Her absence was quickly highlighted as she called each and every one of them and was met with one voicemail after another.

It wasn’t until Spencer finally answered that Hanna realized something was wrong.

Spencer claimed she couldn’t hang out because she was with family. But if that wasn’t enough to heighten Hanna’s suspicions, a loud crash and Emily’s name in the background surely were.

“Say hi to your family for me,” she said, right before she hung up.

Meanwhile, Caleb and the others discovered a fake I.D. on the videos. While none of the girls recognized the dark-haired girl in the picture, Hanna would later reveal that their already mysterious friend, Allie – or should I say, Vivian Darkbloom – was that girl.

In addition to being lied to by her friends, Hanna had to deal with more texts from ‘A,’ her evil stepsister’s arrival, and her trust issues with Caleb.

“Call off your techno-boy-toy or I tell the cops what your mom keeps in the lasagna box.” – ‘A’

Hanna, who was under the impression that Caleb had already ditched his assignment, had no idea what ‘A’ was talking about.

But what exactly was in the lasagna box?

Later in the show, Hanna confronted Caleb about lying to her. When he claimed he just wanted to protect her, she confided in him a story that not even her friends knew.

She and her mom were broke and had almost lost their house. They got money from the bank, but that wasn’t Hanna’s big secret. It was the fact that her mom didn’t borrow the money. She stole it.

Meanwhile, Aria and Holden ended up on a friendly date when both their plans got canceled. While Aria kicked butt on the air hockey table, her boyfriend, Ezra, received bittersweet news about a job opportunity in Louisiana – an opportunity that was, ironically, a direct result from Aria’s dad, Byron.

But the pretty little liars weren’t the only ones with secrets. Kate, Hanna’s new stepsister, had just moved to Rosewood. While in previous episodes she threatened to break Hanna like she did her horses, in this episode, she herself was broken.

Spencer spent much of the time trying to figure out where she had seen Kate before. When she finally realized and reminded Kate about that summer at the horse ranch, Kate’s perfect façade was dismantled.

But to make things worse,  ‘A’ sent nude photos of Kate to everyone through Hanna’s phone, leaving Hanna with the consequences.

Next week, the search for the truth must continue. Will the girls investigate the secret life of “Vivian Darkbloom” and her mysterious claim ticket from the pawnshop? Watch next week to find out.
