Daily Hollywood – Golden Globes "Surprises," Mad Men’s Special, and More

Staff Reporter

Greetings! Daily Hollywood is back, and more opinionated than ever.

The Golden Globes aired last night, and they were about as exciting as an episode from season two of The Walking Dead. The Descendents and The Artist took home the big film awards, while Modern Family and Homeland took home the small screen counterparts. Ricky Gervais made fun of people, Hollywood's prettiest looked smashing, etc. etc. etc. A full list of winners can be found at the link. (EW)

In non-Globes related news (aka everything), AMC’s Mad Men (which wasn’t nominated for anything because it’s been offline for over a year now, gah) confirmed what star Jon Hamm accidentally spilled last week: season 5 starts on March 25th, and its opening episode will be a two-hour long showing directed by none other than Mr. Draper himself. (Vulture)

Kelsey Grammer, who won last night for Starz’s Boss, is expecting twins with his wife Kayte Walsh. Congrats to the couple, though one can only wonder what Grammer’s ex-wife thinks. (People)

I’m totally feeling these new stills from The Hunger Games. The trailer’s been all over the Internet for the past few months, but these pics fill out the world of Panem nicely (to be fair, some of these are from the trailer). Gary Ross, don’t do me wrong. (US Weekly)

Russell Brand has a lot of opinions. He’s been off the radar since splitting with Katy Perry, but in a question-and-answer sesh he was candid about, among other things, the current U.S. presidential debate, calling it “a meaningless spectacle.” Speaking of which, with Huntsman out, it’s down to the Final Five. When one more drops out, maybe they really should just play each other in basketball to determine the nominee. (The Hollywood Reporter)
