London's Urban Nomadic Boat People

Narrow boats on the canal network throughout London are as iconic as Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. There are about 350 boats on the miles of canals that run like veins, pumping water that has connected the city for hundreds of years.

Many of the boats are continuous cruisers, meaning that they must move their boat every two weeks. Those who choose this urban nomadic lifestyle aren't who you might think. They are lawyers and doctors and artists and circus performers. And they found a community in the most unlikely of places - one that has no connection to a physical place.
