Ring in the New Year with a soiree accompanied to the melodic tunes from two of the most buzzed-about indie pop bands on today’s charts at one the city’s chicest venues: The Standard Hotel in West Hollywood.

Only KCRW 89.9, Southern California’s leading NPR affiliate, will bring together a New Year’s Eve bash that is sure to top anyone else’s plans.

With an impressive bill that includes indie-rock duo Jenny and Johnny, Cults, as well as KCRW’s own DJ Marion Hodges of “The Lab” spinning festive tracks, this celebration is bound to have attendees dancing through the night.

After an introduction from Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes, veteran songstress Jenny Lewis, fresh of her break-up from Rilo Kiley, decided to team up with fellow singer-songwriter Jonathan Rice to create a new project unlike anything either one of them has done before.

The product is a saccharine-sweet sound equipped with synchronized vocals and laced with plenty of dance-worthy moments.

With a whirlwind of a year, Cults, a quirky, pop-rock pair hailing from Brooklyn, is a band that you will not want to miss out going on into 2012.

Their nostalgia-tinged tunes that pack a serious lyrical punch will have you reeling back memories from the past year as well as all the way back to your high school prom.

No other venue in L.A. could be more ideal to host two throwbacks acts than poolside at The Standard, a beautifully-modern hotel that is decorated with a retro flair.

Although tickets start at around $75, watchings these acts perform live with champagne in hand on midnight, will be well-worth the pretty penny.
