Katie Couric has split up from her boyfriend of five years, Brooks Perlin. The two were 17 years apart, and the split grew in part from the fact that “they were at different stages in their careers.” (People)
Dustin Lance Black, Oscar award-winning screenwriter for Milk, wrote a play against last year’s Proposition 8 called, fittingly, 8. Black is courting different actors to read the play, and at least one big name is already confirmed: George Clooney. (Vulture)
Chris Meloni (Law & Order: SVU) has landed his first gig since stepping down from the NBC law drama, and it’s a juicy one: he’ll be playing a high power vampire figure on HBO’s True Blood. (EW)
