It's the most wonderful time of the year for Fox News. Of course we're not talking about Christmas, but rather the so-called "War on Christmas" that Bill O'Reilly and others on Fox News have fought so valiantly against/brought up incessantly and repeatedly over the past few holiday seasons. With Christmas so close, Fox News is amping up its coverage of the alleged "war."

Naturally, O'Reilly's nemesis Jon Stewart took note of this and had a few words to say about it--and O'Reilly--on "The Daily Show" this week. This, of course, led to O'Reilly taking his own shots against Stewart, which in turn led Stewart to strike back at O'Reilly, which then led to O'Reilly to fire back again at Stewart. You get the point. These two are now officially feuding over the war on Christmas. Since "The Daily Show" does not air Friday, of course, we will have to wait until Monday to see if/how Stewart responds.

But let's start with the opening shot, shall we? Tired of debunking Fox News' annual coverage of the war on Christmas, a fed up Stewart used his program Tuesday night to declare his own war on Christmas. "My fellow Americans, tonight I humbly come before you to declare war on Christmas," Stewart says in a declaration speech delivered from a faux-White House set. "We now ask that Christmas...immediately and unilaterally...withdraw to its pre-'67 borders...pre-1667 borders." And so it begins:

O'Reilly, never one to mince words and avoid controversy, fired back on Wednesday's "O'Reilly Factor." "Now "there's no question Mr. Stewart's going to Hell," he said. Oh yes...O'Reilly went there. And he went there right before admitting that Stewart actually had some "valid points" nonetheless. Take a look:

Ok, Stewart's turn again! On Thursday, "The Daily Show" host responded to the assertion O'Reilly--or "one of Santa's unusually large elves," as he called him--made that Stewart was going to hell. Looking shocked, Stewart then sheepishly agreed with O'Reilly before proceeding to go off on the caustic cable commentator again. “But here’s what you and your minions don’t understand, O’Reilly! Your Hell doesn’t scare me. I make my livin’ watching Fox News eight hours a day. I’m already in Hell. Boom!” Stewart then challenged O'Reilly to respond, telling the Fox News host it was his move.

So how did O'Reilly respond on Friday? In his "Pinheads and Patriots" segment on of course! Hmmm...I wonder which category O'Reilly will say Stewart fits under? Anyway, here's how O'Reilly formally responded after playing a clip of Stewart from the previous night: "My move, Stewart? All right, here's my move. How can you watch eight hours of Fox News every day and still be a pinhead?"
