Tea Party Support Wanes, Poll Finds
The latest Pew Research Center survey, released Tuesday, found 27 percent of Americans say they disagree with the Tea Party movement compared to just 20 percent in agreement. A year ago, the figures were basically reversed.
Even in Republican districts, support for the Tea Party and the Republican Party has dropped to the point that just as many Americans disfavor the Republican Party as the Democratic Party.
The Wall Street Journal suggests part of the drop could be fallout from this summer's debt ceiling debate.
