Russian Man Arrested Over 26 Corpses Found in Home
Russian police have detained a man after the remains of at least 20 women were found in his home while they were investigating a series of grave robberies.
Police say the man may have dug up the skeletons and dressed the bodies in dresses and as teddy bears.
From BBC News:
Mummified remains of 27 women were found in the flat in Nizhny Novgorod, a police source told government newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The suspect, 45, is a local historian, Russian news agencies say.
The women found in the suspect's western Russian apartment were between 15 and 26 years old.
Neighbors told news sources the man was a "genius," but it is unknown if the neighbors knew about the bodies.
Moskvina visited about 750 cemeteries before being arrested, the Daily Mail stated.
His parents eventually visited their son, who was living alone in Nizhny Novgorod, and found the bodies.
The suspect could be charged under Russian law with desecrating human remains.
