At least 25 homes have been hit since Thursday night by a wildfire that spread across nearly 2,000 acres and counting in Reno.

One man died after suffering a heart attack while evacuating. Several thousand homes are expected to remain evacuated until Saturday afternoon, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

The so-called Caughlin Fire has been driven by fast winds. Winds Friday night were expected to reach 45 mph, about the same as Thursday night. Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has asked Calif. Gov. Jerry Brown to send over some resources, the Associated Press reported.
