Authorities responded to a plane crash Wednesday night in Pinal County, east of Phoenix, ABC News reported. Authorities told the Associated Press that the body of a child was recovered. The plane had three adults and three children on board.

The children ranged in age from 5 to 9. Authorities told the AP there was no sign of survivors.

The plane crashed in the Superstition Mountains.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told the AP that preliminary reports indicate that the twin-engine plane flew from Safford to Mesa's Falcon Field to pick up the children for the Thanksgiving holiday.

A pilot, mechanic and another adult were also on board.
