Penn State officials have stepped down amid the sexual abuse scandal that involved a former football coach and an administrator.

USA Today reported that Tim Curley, athletics directors, and Gary Schultz, senior vice president for business and finance will step down. The charges against them is that they didn't notify law enforcements of child abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky, former defensive coordinator at Penn State.

LA Times reported:

Coach Joe Paterno, who has more wins than any other NCAA Division I coach with 409, is not considered a suspect. He released a statement Sunday saying he was shocked and saddened by the accusations against Sandusky, who retired from Penn State in 1999 but continued to use the school's facilities.

Still the charges against Sandusky of sexually assaulting eight boys is not being taken lightly.

CBS News said Paterno issued a statement on the matter: 

"If this is true we were all fooled, along with scores of professionals trained in such things, and we grieve for the victims and their families. They are in our prayers."
