Los Angeles city officials offered Occupy L.A. protesters an office space across from City Hall with $1-yearly-rent, according to the LA Times.

The 10,000-square-foot office space used to be a bookstore, according to Jim Lafferty of the National Lawyers Guild, who has been negotiating with the city on behalf of the protesters.

Lafferty made the announcement at an Occupy general assembly meeting on Monday night.  The LA Times also said the city has offered to provide the protesters land for farming.

Occupy LA protesters did not say whether they accepted the city's proposal.

According to the Times, the office space is located at the Los Angeles Mall, 201 N. Los Angeles St.
