Jacks N Joe is a self-proclaimed “breakfast all day kinda place.”

Seven days a week, all hours of the day and evening, this downtown LA breakfast joint serves up delicious flapjacks, french toast, omelets, and more to hungry patrons.

JNJ has garnered some serious popularity since they opened their doors just a little less than a year ago. But this family-run business--started by USC alum, Mark Bednorz and his wife Vianney--is broadening its horizons.

Introducing Jacks N Joe Thursday night dinners.

Advertised solely via their Facebook page, these “secret” weekly dinners have quickly become a new favorite for JNJ enthusiasts.

Bednorz says it was the loyal customers who truly inspired this culinary venture.

“We started these intimate little dinners for the people who have been here with us all week long,” Bednorz said.

Bednorz feels he can cater to those customers craving a little Jacks N Joe variety by cooking up a plethora of savory dinners.

The weekly routine is simple: conjure up a delicious dinner menu on Wednesday and by Thursday evening, it’s ready for the hoards of faithful foodies. So far, the menus have featured everything from pull-apart pork sandwiches to chicken and waffles.

True to JNJ’s budget-friendly style, everything is reasonably priced. No dinner item exceeds $14, Bednorz says.

So what’s on the menu this week? Bednorz revealed the mouthwatering array of dishes: rib-eye steak served with mashed potatoes and salad, pulled pork sandwich, chicken Caesar salad, meatball sandwich, and chicken parmesan.

But for the JNJ purists, not to worry, breakfast will always be available. “We are breakfast all day and I wouldn’t deviate from that,” Bednorz vows. “In my mind there’s nothing wrong with having breakfast for dinner.”

But now, Jacks N Joe has forged common ground in allowing traditional supper enthusiasts and breakfast-for-dinner-lovers to sit at the same table and enjoy each other’s company.

Bednorz declares proudly, “It satisfies both worlds.”
