It was bound to happen, but it feels no less trashy typing this: Lifetime is looking to make a Casey Anthony TV movie. Just, ew. (People) 

It’s already “interesting” enough that the Japanese animation classic Akira is getting a Western makeover, but now apparently Kristen Stewart is in talks to star as Kaneda sidekick Ky Reed. First, the guy from the new Tron, now Bella; man, there’s gonna be some expressive acting in this film! (The Hollywood Reporter) 

With any luck, this won’t be something like “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”: Disney is bringing Newsies to Broadway, albeit in a limited release. (Vulture) 

NBC has been switching things up lately (here’s looking at you, Community), and one of the definite casualties is the Maria Bello cop drama Prime Suspect, which has officially stopped production. (Deadline)
