Style Icon: Sienna Miller
Sienna Miller is best known for being a fashion powerhouse. Her effortless style has garnered immense media attention and has launched her into the throes of fame.
Sienna Miller is better known for her string of controversies and her style than for her films. She was first launched into the public eye when she began dating ‘Alfie’ co-star Jude law in 2004 and since that time she has remained a dominant force not only in entertainment magazines but in the fashion world as well.
Sienna Miller’s style can best be described as boho-chic. She puts together vintage clothing with modern pieces. Sienna likes to keep her look unkempt. She never over does anything or looks like she spend hours doing her hair, make-up or picking out her outfit.
Over time Miller has explored outside of the realms of her boho-chic inspired clothing and into 80’s inspired looks. Rarely is she seen in pieces that are viewed on the fashion runways or the hottest trends. Miller is what inspires fashion on the runways and begins the latest trends.
Sienna Miller is not a style icon due to the clothing that she wears. Her secret lies in how she wears them. Like fellow Brit Kate Moss, she always has that ‘not trying too hard’ look down. It appears as if she does not take time to put her outfits together. Simply put, her look is effortless.
When she chooses to wear make-up, she uses gel liner to do a cat eye and a pale pink lipstick to give her lips some color. Her hair is always wavy and messy, in a sexy, beachy fashion.
Heels and boots make Sienna's wardrobe fantastic, and she owns a wide collection. There is rarely a time where Sienna is seen without heels. She is always seen wearing high-waisted pants and dresses. Sienna loves to wear dresses. Usually she wears dresses that are a mix of vintage, edgy and mod styles.
Sienna Miller’s style has caught the eyes of Hugo Boss and has earned her various covers in magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Nylon, not to mention that she is always making headlines in style and fashion columns on a weekly basis.
Sienna has even had the privilege to portray a style icon when she played the role of the legendary pop icon Edie Sedgwick in 2006’s ‘Factory Girl’. In 2007, the factory girl cemented her position in the fashion world when she launched her own fashion line under London’s Pepe Jeans. She called her line Twenty8Twelve and collaborated with her sister to design and release the line.
In a 2009 interview with Nylon magazine, Sienna said “I’m a really fearless person”, no doubt that this fearlessness has translated into her style and has in turn made her a fashion force to be reckoned with.
