Even if she doesn’t consider herself to be one, Alexa Chung is the style icon of the moment.

The British TV personality and model turned fashion designer has been fashion’s “It Girl” for quite some time now. Mulberry named a bag after her. The New York Times once called her “the Kate Moss of the new generation.” Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld described her as “beautiful and clever... a modern girl.” And the queen of all things fashion, Anna Wintour, labeled her a “phenomena”.

But what exactly is Chung’s appeal? Simply put, she makes hipster look effortlessly cool. Think tomboy meets 60’s gamine, with a love for satchels, high waisted shorts, and silky blouses. She puts unexpected pieces of clothing together and always manages to look amazing. Her style is utterly unique, but stays to true to who she is.

In an interview with fashion website refinery29, Chung calls her style “cookie-cutter hipster”. The 60’s and girl bands are her sources of fashion inspiration, especially when it comes to her latest project.

Last September, Chung released her second collection for J.Crew’s sister store, Madewell. You’ll find lace and palm tree imprinted dresses, pea coats, and cozy knit sweater for your perfect fall wardrobe. Accessories are definitely key and complete each look with black shiny oxford shoes, knee high socks, and colorful scarves.

Up next, Chung will be hosting a new reality show on Lifetime. But if you need your Alexa Chung fix ASAP, go to your nearest Madewell to check out her line. You won’t be disappointed.
