Look Out For Meteor Showers Tonight
L.A. may actually get to see some stars Saturday morning, or Friday night, depending on your weekend's timetable.
And it's no where near the red carpet either.
The Orionid meteor shower is expected to be at its height just before dawn on Oct. 21 and 22 (i.e.: around 5 a.m. on Saturday morning) said the LA Times.
A little background about the shower from the Times:
The Orionids occur each October as the Earth passes through a trail of dust left by Halley's comet. When one of those dust particles — about the size of a grain of sand — enters Earth's atmosphere, it excites the air molecules through which it passes, causing them to give off light.
Particularly for those who live away from city lights, the shower may put on a good show.
