President Obama was back in Los Angeles Monday night raising money for his re-election campaign.  The president was the guest of honor at two separate, private fundraising events thrown by some of the Hollywood elite.

His evening started at the home of movie producer John Lassiter with supporters paying $35,800 a piece to attend.  Obama told those in attendance “this election will not be as sexy as the first one.”  He followed by saying his passion and commitment remained the same.

Attendees at the Lassiter-hosted event included former-NBA star Magic Johnson and actor Will Smith.

The president was then expected to attend a second fundraiser organized by Latino organization Futuro Fund and heldat the home of Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith.  Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is expected to attend the event.

The latest round of campaign finance reports show Obama with a comfortable lead in fundraising over each of the GOP candidates vying for his job.

Obama also made a visit to local LA eatery Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘n Waffles, surprising the fellow diners.  He will tape a “Tonight Show” appearance Tuesday morning before heading San Francisco.
