The storm bringing wet snow, rain and strong winds was expected to move through the East Coast on Saturday, threatening to pull down power lines and cause some residents to have a “White Halloween.”

October snowfalls could be broken according to the  New York Times. The October record for Southern New England is 7.5 inches in Worcester back in 1979.

According to the New York Times:

“Likely to get the most snow were the Massachusetts Berkshires, the Litchfield Hills in northwestern Connecticut, southwestern New Hampshire and the southern Green Mountains.”

The storm already delayed flights Saturday morning at Newark Airport and Philadelphia’s Airport.

According to ABC News, there have been just three October days with measurable snowfall in Central Park in the past 135 years.
