The Raiders Win One for Al

In what was one of the more exciting endings of the morning games, Oakland’s Michael Huff intercepted the Texans’ Matt Schaub to seal the 25-20 road win. Oakland head coach Hue Jackson took a knee following the pick and began to cry.

Then, Jackson delivered a chill-causing post-game speech to his team. It was quite remarkable. Rest easy, Al Davis. Like your Raiders’ 3-2 record, you’ve earned it.

So… San Francisco

…may be legitimate? Possibly?

I would say after beating anyone by 45 points that would be the case. But the previously 3-1 Buccaneers, albeit on a cross-country trip? Impressive.

Pretty sure Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris is all kinds of mad with his team’s performance.

Alex Smith, aka Mr. Small Hands, has yet to lose a game for the Niners. As long as that continues to be the case, they will walk away with the NFC West.

Tebow Time?

A couple weeks ago, a particular writer wrote that Tim Tebow has no future with the Broncos. Well, Kyle Orton did himself no favors as he threw for 34 yards on 13 attempts and one interception in the first half.

Those are probably not the numbers head coach John Fox bargained for.

Fox pulled Orton in favor of Tebow (pictured left) at the start of the second half. While Tebow did not put up amazing numbers, he made more plays, and the whole team played better when he entered. But the sample size was extremely small.

Fox will not rush to make a decision.

The Day of RIDICULOUS Catches

I do not need to describe each of these receptions…watch for yourself. Enjoy.

The Colts are bad. Like really bad.

Indy jumped out to a quick start today, leading the Kansas Chiefs 17-0 early in the second quarter and 24-14 at the half.

They could not hold on to their lead.

Curtis Painter (below right) had a great day, racking up 277 yards and three scores on 27 attempts. Pierre Garcon was the primary beneficiary, with five catches for 125 yards with two touchdowns.

But man, if they can’t hold a lead against the Chiefs? Better hope Peyton sits out for the year, Colts fans. Time to get Lucky.

Is Aaron Rodgers human?

Not too sure about this one. After a touchdown-less first half, Rodgers went to work. He put up 396 yards and two touchdowns with 66% passes completed.

He is a marvel. Over the past three seasons, when he has stepped onto the field, he’s the best player. Period. He completed at least one pass to 13 different players.

It does not matter who he has catching the ball. He’s a machine, akin to Albert Pujols. Let’s try to appreciate what he does before he’s gone.

Oh, and he’s only 27. So, Rodgers will presumably be around for a long while.
