Things are looking good for “the feel bad movie of the holiday season.”

A new poster for the David Fincher-directed “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” movie debuted Tuesday, reminding fans that December 21st can’t come soon enough.

The poster debuted on the Tumblr Mouth-Taped-Shut.com, which EW reports is part of Sony’s unofficial viral marketing campaign for the upcoming flick. The site previously posted the nude “Evil Shall With Evil Be Expelled” poster and other promotional materials for the film.

Whatever doubts people had about Rooney Mara living up to the role originated by Noomi Rapace can officially be put aside. It seems like every time we see Mara as the complicated computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, she just looks better and better, and the poster doesn’t disappoint. The promo shows a silhouetted Salander with journalist Mikael Blomkvist, played by Daniel Craig, literally in her head.

From this and the trailer, it looks like Fincher is going to play up the dynamic between the journalist and the hacker. Since their relationship was one of the strongest points of the books, it’s definitely something to get excited about.

The poster also gives other clues to what’s in store for the duo as they tackle the mysterious Vanger case, with the excellent addition of Harriet’s flowers and the family’s island looming in the background.

The poster also reveals the movie’s tagline “What is hidden in snow, comes forth in the thaw,” revealing the somewhat sinister complexities and mysteries that the “feel bad movie of the holiday season” will have.

Overall, the poster is fantastic and definitely does the highly anticipated movie justice. The more we see, the more it seems like this film will be just as good as, if not better than, the Swedish original, but we’ll just have to wait until December to know for sure.
