In this week’s Modern Family, David Cross returns for his second appearance as the puggle-breeding, conniving politician Dwaine Bailey running for town council. Last week, he denied Claire’s plea for a stoplight at a dangerous intersection, inspiring her to step outside her maternal role and challenge him in the race for town council.

While Claire tries her role in politics, the rest of the family seems to run amuck. Phil loses the reins on the kids, drugging Alex and bruising Luke.

Then, after Cam and Mitchell get into a hit and run accident on the way home from the movies, the boys become “Dirty Harrys” and take justice into their own hands, even going to a strangers home to retrieve a lost $900 for Haley.

As usual, the family gets into their crazy antics of the week, but end up coming together strong. Between Gloria forcing her advice and help on everyone, Cam practicing his role as the neighborhood vigilante, and Claire running for town council, the members of the Modern Family were stepping outside their normal roles this week, in their own awkward and hilarious way.
