"Modern Family" is back to its usual antics in this Wednesday's episode. Claire takes an empowered stance against traffic danger without the support of her family, while Manny gets a lesson in what it is to be a businessman. Meanwhile, Cam and Mitchell bicker about a clean kitchen.

Claire’s gossip with her daughters leads to her hitting her own husband, and inspires her to go door to door getting signatures to install a stoplight, while Jay helps Manny sell wrapping paper and gives him motivational quips to keep him going as his morale dips low.

Meanwhile, Gloria, already annoyed with the attention seeking Stella, lets the French bulldog out the front door, and spends the episode scavenging the neighborhood for the lost pet.

Phil and the rest of the family get excited that Claire has a project keeping her busy, so they have free reign of the house, free reign to order pizza without pants and ignore her constant nagging. Phil even allows Luke to film him hitting him in the face with a basketball over 12 times because, “If my son thinks of me as one of his idiot friends than I’ve succeeded as a father.”

The episode, though not a laugh out loud knee-slapper like some past episodes, is always entertaining and ends a hectic Wednesday with a hearty dose of comedy.
