Sunday night, during the closing hour of the first part of Kim Kardashian’s Fairytale Wedding special on E!, comedian Jim Gaffigan tweeted, “At this point is there anything we don’t know about the Kardashians?”

After watching the four-hour special that spanned over two nights, most dedicated Kardashian followers could probably answer no. The episodes went behind the scenes revealing the most intimate details of Kim’s stressful wedding process.

In classic Kardashian fashion, the special was laced with drama, laughs, and tears.

During Sunday’s two-hour episode, watchers wondered if the wedding would actually happen. Feuding siblings and wedding planning drama alienated Kim’s husband-to-be, Kris Humphries, from the rest of the Kardashian clan.

Some may say Kim’s wedding is doomed from the start. That’s how the first half foreshadowed it to be, anyway.

This first half delved into the personal theatrics of each character’s melodramas, which more often than not, seemed more comical than serious.

Rob Kardashian, the only brother of the famous sisters, has been battling weight issues. His mother, joking about his fat butt, said, “I gave birth to that let me see!” Tired of jokes from the overbearing females that surround him, he set out to lose weight. Khloe and her husband, Lamar Odom, went as far as to install an alarm on their pantry, which ultimately caught Rob red-handed, knee-deep in midnight snacks. Once giving in to junk-food cravings and stuffing his face, viewers were left laughing as he lethargically described eating tacos as, “the best experience”

The Kardashian family, as a whole, can be criticized as being self-centered and self-indulgent. Amidst the busy wedding planning process, Kris Jenner, obsessed with her aging appearance, underwent a cosmetic procedure. Unpleased with her children’s lack of concern she said, “My children seem a little preoccupied with their own lives.” But, much to Kris’ delight, after her recovery, her children threw a “Kris Appreciation Night.”

But let us not forget what this special was all about, “the wedding of Kardashian proportion.” Kim was channeling Elizabeth Taylor, the queen of bling. Kim, who had been planning her dream wedding since she was 10, butted heads with her fiancé about logistics. Humphries said he felt disrespected that Kim and her mom were making decisions behind his back. However, most of the fireworks were between Khloe and “Hump” when she questioned his intensions for marrying her sister.

However, come the second part, which aired Monday, Kim powered through tears and finally had the wedding she had always dreamed of. Donning none other than a custom Vera Wang gown and dripping with jewels, Kim walked down the aisle witness to hundreds of friends and family. It was a star-studded event with over 450 guests.

One of the special and recognized guests was the sisters’ grandfather, which meant a lot to the girls.

With the low success rate of marriages these days, especially in Hollywood, we will wait anxiously to see how long this one will last.
