Avid fans of "Iron Chef America" are in for a special treat this October 30th at 9 PM when "The Next Iron Chef: Super Chefs" debuts on Food Network.

The show, hosted by Alton Brown, will be the same premise as "Iron Chef America," but this time, the competition will feature ten of the world’s most celebrated super chefs. The epic battle to become a part of the exclusive Iron Chef society will be more heated, more intense, and more exciting than ever before.

The accomplished chef contestants are Anne Burrell, Michael Chiarello, Elizabeth Falkner, Alex Guarnaschelli, Chuck Hughes, Robert Irvine, Beau MacMillan, Spike Mendelsohn, Marcus Samuelsson, and Geoffrey Zakarian.

“'The Next Iron Chef' competitors this season are all superstars in their own right – they’ve won James Beard Awards, prepared menus for presidents and heads of state and are at the top of the culinary pyramid,” said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Programming and Production for Food Network. “With these extraordinary chefs battling it out every week in true Iron Chef-style, the show promises extraordinary culinary competitions, feats of bold imagination and nail-biting suspense.”

In addition to a more experienced crew, the show is upping the ante by adding a new element that determines who goes home, called the Secret Ingredient Showdown, involving a sudden-death cook-off.  The competing chefs will be given only one ingredient to work with in this deadly fight to the finish.

The winner of the show will join the acclaimed ranks of Bobby Flay, Marc Forgione, and Masaharu Morimoto as a member of the Chairman’s team on "Iron Chef America."
