H&M Creates A "Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" Inspired Line
Trish Summerville, costume designer to the upcoming David Fincher film, and the Swedish retailer collaborated to create a 30-piece line stocked with edgy, alternative-style items that look like they came straight from the anti-heroine’s closet.
“Salander’s look is very real and very lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world,” Summerville said in a release. “I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge.”
The rough-around-the-edges line includes leather pants and jackets, torn jeans and slouchy hoodies (in industrial shades of dark gray, black, worn whites and burgundy), and debuts in Paris next month. For those who are not particularly resigned to the punk-rock look, the pieces can be mixed and matched to add a little bit of edge to a favorite outfit.
The collection hits H&M stores and the Web Dec. 14—a move perfectly timed to coincide with the film’s release, Dec. 21.
