Republican candidates will face off in the GOP debate Tuesday night at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, which will focus on the economy.

The eight declared candidates who are participating in the debate are expected to discuss their fiscal polices to appeal to viewers.
Key issues will be job creation and unemployment, and government spending.

Jabs are anticipated between visible candidates Governor Mitt Romney, Governor Rick Perry, and Rep. Michele Bachman.

The Washington Post calls it “the most important week of Rick Perry’s campaign.”

The Miami Herald also sees this is as crucial especially for Rick Perry.

Conversely, another poor showing in Tuesday's Republican debate in New Hampshire could plunge him deeper into a hole, making it even harder for the one-time GOP front-runner to regain the momentum he enjoyed in the opening weeks of his campaign.

The Wall Street Journal points out the impact of televised debates:

The debates have overwhelmed the Republican race. "They are about all there's been to the campaign," says Fox political commentator Brit Hume. After each debate the campaign has been frozen until the next one, except for arguments over issues spawned by the debates themselves.

Charlie Rose will moderate with co-moderators Karen Tumulty, political correspondent, and Julianna Goldman, White House correspondent.
