Muammar Gaddafi has been buried in a secret location in the desert, according to the Libyan National Transitional Council.

According to Al Jazeera, one of Gaddafi's nephews read a prayer at the ceremony outside of Misurata, the city where the former leader and his son's bodies had been kept in a freezer for four days of public viewing.

The NTC refused to bury Gaddafi in his hometown of Sirte, as requested by his tribe.
