As a week of occupation by hundreds of protestors nears the end of its first week, we surveyed a handful of the protestors in a diverse crowd about their motivations. Meet them and their stories below.

Earlier Thursday, police arrested 11 protesters at the Downtown Los Angeles Bank of America. Meanwhile, more protesters remained camped out on the lawns and sidewalks surrounding the Los Angeles City Hall. Thursday marked day 6 of Occupy L.A. and the crowd only seems to grow with each passing night.

Progressive Front Groups, Move-on.org, The American Dream, etc… are now spearheading a campaign to hijack this Populist OWS Movement to be used as a Democratic Platform on which Obama and the fake Progressive Democrats can counteract the rising tide of the Patriot and Libertarian/Anarchist movements.Hows that hope/change working out for you

...and even if my reason for being there (as represented in the material), seems too 'loosely', this whole movement is very close to my heart and my personal beliefs. Something I truly care about - this place, this country, my country of origin, the whole world, and all of us as together as ONE. I'm not even gonna go beyond that which is not a point. This, what's happening right now, if executed properly, with clear minds and pure intentions, will bring major change for better future for all of US and US and rest of the world and those we mostly have to take care about: Our Children and Our parents, and parents of our Parents.

That is why I've mentioned - "I was there also because it was my work day off". Even if I'll have to skip a day of work or two, I would not have a problem with that and I'll be happy to participate. This is TOO important to NOT participate at all! Even if someone is taking day off from work to be part of the movement, is completely NOT a problem I think. People work TOO MUCH for TOO little in this country and that is the root of the whole problem!

this is an awesome presentation. i don't understand why some of these people with jobs are participating. don't they have work to do? Like Elise is a freelancer and the librarian should have work I would think.
