Usually filled with hot dog stands, popcorn and cheering fans, the Los Angeles Sports Arena is attracting a different crowd this week: thousands of low-income people looking for free healthcare. The Care Now clinic offers medical, vision, and dental care, while also providing vaccinations, free screenings, and preventative counseling.

As part of their Urban Health Initiatives, Care Now! is offering patient education for the uninsured and in need. The arena is filled with informational booths where health care professional can talk to patients about wide-ranging health concerns from how to quit smoking to maintaining dental health.

Doctors from local clinics have donated their time and expertise to provide comprehensive healthcare to individuals who otherwise would be overlooked. For cases where follow-ups are necessary, Care Now! and its supporters offer referrals and patient housing in order to provide the best possible patient care.

In the long term, Care Now! USA hopes to host a number of such events nationwide in order to promote better overall national health.
