Apple stores across the United States closed for about 90 minutes Wednesday morning so employees could watch a broadcast of a celebration of Steve Jobs’ life. The event was held at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., Reuters reported.

The celebration was closed to the public. Musician Norah Jones and band Coldplay performed, The Associated Press reported.

CEO Tim Cook, chief designer Jony Ive and former Vice President Al Gore spoke, according to the AP.

The Apple co-founder died Oct. 5 at age 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
