Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine has a request for Fox News: stop playing his music. More specifically, the singer tweeted, “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f–king channel ever again. Thank you.”

It is still unclear what provoked Levine's comment. Fox Network did not have an offical response to Levine's request, but Fox anchors voiced their own reactions to the statement. The incendiary comment prompted a Twitter battle between the anchors and the outspoken crooner.

Greg Gutfeld, host of Fox's "Redeye," tweeted, "fun joke: why did Maroon 5 cross the road? because crappy music is legal there! @adamlevine" and "Maroon 5 is just bad music @adamlevine 'golf is a good walk spoiled.' -Mark Twain."

Andy Levy, another member of "Redeye," joined in on the bashing. "Dear @AdamLevine, don't make crappy f*cking music ever again. Thank you," he tweeted.

Levine has not been one to shy away from controversy. In August he criticized Fox's "American Idol" and later that month he tweeted about the MTV Video Music Awards and said “The VMA’s. One day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music,” he wrote. “I’m drawing a line in the sand. F— you VMA’s.”

There's nothing like watching grown men hash it out via Twitter. What's next? I'm waiting for someone to pull a "Clueless" and Tweet to Levine, "You're a virgin who can't drive."

...Of course, we know that's just not true.
