Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine got into a Twitter tiff with Fox News anchors Wednesday after “The Voice” mentor asked the network to stop playing his band’s music.

"Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f–king channel ever again. Thank you," Levine tweeted

Fox News hosts Andy Levy and Greg Gutfeld, who anchor the late-night show "Red Eye," shot back at the singer over the social networking site.

Levy countered, "Dear @AdamLevine, don’t make crappy f–king music ever again. Thank you." And Gutfeld responded with, "Dear adam, That’s not music" and "fun joke: why did Maroon 5 cross the road? because crappy music is legal there! @adamlevine."

This isn’t the first time Levine has stirred up trouble over Twitter. He expressed his distaste for MTV and its Video Music Awards in August.

"The VMA’s. One day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music," he wrote. "I’m drawing a line in the sand. F—k you VMA’s."

It is not clear which song the singer was referring to or what caused his outburst, and when Rolling Stone contacted his representative, he or she declined to comment.
